Job Summary:

The Plan Examiner I will

-          Perform specialized and technical plan examination of residential and light commercial projects to ensure compliance with adopted codes and ordinances.

-          Assist Plan Review Coordinator with implementing City and department policies.

-          Will coordinate code issues between plan examination staff and inspection staff.

-          Coordinates interpretations of building codes, FEMA requirements, and Texas Department of Insurance requirments.

-          Performs field inspections of building projects as need.

Qualified Candidates will be required to have:

-          Minimum qualifications are High School graduate or GED, with three years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, or  training.

-          Must be able to obtain a Coastal Construction Inspection Certification and an ICC Residential Plans Examiner Certification.

Hours Available: Monday-Friday; 8-5pm

Pay:  $13.62 per hour
