TELIC Corporation is seeking Piping Stress Engineer/Analyst positions to perform PC-3 dynamic analyses for our client in Aiken, South Carolina.  This is a full-time position starting immediately and lasting for six months.  The rate for the position is negotiable and it includes travel and per diem for lodging and meals at the government rate.  The position also includes 10 paid holidays per year, and 2 weeks paid vacation after one year of service (should the assignment be extended this long).

 

Job Overview: 

The Piping Stress Engineer/Analyst is a fully qualified professional in piping / pipe stress analysis experience, proficient in the utilization of piping / pipe stress engineering theories and practices. The Piping Stress Engineer/Analyst shall be proficient in the use of the Caesar II software program, including specific application of static and dynamic analysis for seismic load conditions. Working knowledge in the use of SmartPlant 3D image viewing software is required.

 

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Perform pipe stress of piping systems in accordance with ASME, ANSI B31.3 code requirements using Caesar II software program.

- Perform analysis for the qualification of nozzle loads based on the allowable loading data provided in the Mechanical Equipment Acceptance Criteria.

- Perform calculations to qualify acceptable moment loadings in flanges per ASME Section III NC.

- Provide calculation to qualify acceptable loads on pump nozzles per ANSI/HI 9.6.2 or other documentation pertaining to the specified pump (eg. API 610).

- Prepare engineering computations and analyses.

- Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.

- Extract engineering information from CAD.

 

The evaluations shall be performed using Caesar II computer analysis software that has been verified and validated on the desktop computer that the evaluation is being performed on.  An understanding of the piping isometrics and their relation to the equipment and structure is necessary to perform the analyses; therefore a working knowledge in the use of SmartPlant 3D image viewing software will be required.  Portions of the pre and post processing will be performed using Mathcad computer software.  The calculations shall be independently checked by competent personnel to exacting standards and documented using the methods in the aforementioned desktop instruction. 

 

Our client shall provide piping isometrics, equipment catalog cuts, line lists, current desktop instructions, corrosion allowances, insulation data (as required), response spectra data in a format readable by Caesar II, current document and Mathcad templates, and controlled calculation numbers.  The initial calculation being prepared through the checking by TELIC’s personnel shall be completed under the supervision of our client’s personnel.

 

Requirements include:

- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenships allowed

- CAESAR II SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

- Must undergo and subject to security and background investigations

- Must provide 3 professional references with name, address, and phone number for each

- Proficiency in Government and non-Government software programs as listed above

- Strong work ethic and exceptional customer service and communication skills
