The Fargo VA Medical Center
is seeking a board certified physician demonstrated clinical and administrative expertise who can meet the challenges facing the VA health care delivery system and play a major role in the development and implementation of activities designed to promote care which is efficient cost-effective and compassionate and improves patient satisfaction. Applicants should have a strong demonstrated track record of physician leadership and administrative experience, preferably at the Service Chief/Department Chairman level or higher; and academic experience preferred. The candidate should have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and proven clinical excellence. The ability to promote medical staff excellence in service and teaching is essential. Experience should clearly distinguish the physician as having the highest professional qualifications.
THE FARGO VA MEDICAL CENTER IS a Level 2 Medical Center and a member of Veterans Integrated Service Network 23. This facility combines a 59 bed medical facility along with a 50 bed transitional care unit for rehab and extended care, both accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations with a VBA Regional Office, and a Vet Center, offering veterans the unique opportunity to obtain health care, benefits services, and Readjustment Counseling at one location. Due to the growing veteran population in our servicing area 8 Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) have been established with the ninth planned for opening in late 2009. The Center provides a wide spectrum of primary and tertiary acute and extended care inpatient and outpatient activities in an academic setting. The medical center has an active research program and has a successful affiliation with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine.
