The Western Pennsylvania Hospital is an academic medical center with two hospital campuses that serve Pittsburgh and the surrounding five-state area:  The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, comprised of 504 beds, and The Western Pennsylvania Hospital - Forbes Regional Campus in Monroeville with 340 beds.  Approximately 1,200 physicians and nearly 3,700 employees share West Penn Hospital's commitment to excellence in patient care, education and research.  A member of the West Penn Allegheny Health System, West Penn Hospital offers a diploma program through its School of Nursing and provides clinical training to third- and fourth-year medical students of the Philadelphia based Temple University School of Medicine.
