The Whittier Pharmacist Inc. was established in the fall of 1995 to cater to the needs of the Whittier Health Network of subacute, skilled long-term care and assisted living facility patients throughout New England. Today, The Whittier Pharmacist services more than 1,500 patients throughout the well-established and fully-accredited facilities of the Whittier Health Network.
The Whittier Pharmacist Inc. is currently looking for a Pharmacy Tech to work Mon - Fri, 40hr per week!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Pricing and processing patient medication charges.
2) Processing patient medication credits.
3) Maintaining departmental records.
4) Processing purchase orders.
5) Processing invoices for all materials purchased by the Pharmacy Department.
6) Delivering medications to Nursing Units.
7) Procuring and delivering interdepartmental requisitions, mail and miscellaneous communications.
8) Assisting the Pharmacist in filling and checking medication charts.
9) Receiving and placing into inventory pharmaceuticals and other supplies for the Pharmacy Department.
10) Handling telephone communications to and from the Department of Pharmacy.
11) Performing a variety of other assignments as required and assigned by the Pharmacist on duty.
12) Demonstrates appropriate communication/interaction with patients, families, visitors and employees, taking into consideration age and developmental level.

13) Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the impact of disability upon an individual’s, as well as families’ physical, emotional, social, economic and vocational status, taking into consideration age-related issues, and developmental levels over the life span (i.e., the adolescents’ need to develop their own identity, independence, and adjust to the physiological aspects of aging), and meets competency requirements for the population served (adolescents through geriatric), as applicable to the job description.
