Specifications for Primary Care Sales Representative
· The Professional Pharmaceutical Representative will professionally and ethically create, maintain, and expand sales in a designated territory assignment and provide continuing education and service to targeted physicians.
· The Representative is responsible for generating market share and market share growth for assigned professional pharmaceutical products within a specific geographic area.
· The Representative will make selling presentations to physicians and other health care professionals, primarily in an office based setting within an assigned geography.
· The Representative will be responsible for developing an understanding of the issues and opportunities unique to each geography, particularly in managed health care.
· The Representative will manage allocated resources (samples, promotional and educational materials) to maximize return within regulatory and ethical guidelines.
· The Representative maintains accountability for all pharmaceutical samples and stock packages in accordance with FDA and PDMA guidelines.
· The Representative must utilize the sales automation system to document call and program activity.
· The Representative must complete initial and ongoing product and development training as required.
Required/Preferred Candidate Qualifications / Experience
· Minimum Education: 4 year Bachelor’s degree required BA/BS
· Candidates with a minimum of 2 years Pharmaceutical sales (experience selling in the pain market or launching products is highly desirable), or
· Candidates with a minimum of 2 years proven sales performance in a B2B position (product sales), or
· Candidates with a medical background e.g. Nurse, PA, or Pharmacists plus 1 year selling or applicable business experience, or
· Former military personnel/ officers, or
· Candidates with teaching and/or training experience
· Proven self starters that exhibit a high level of drive, purpose and maturity will be considered as well
