Based in Houston, Texas, our key operating locations are in the Gulf of Mexico, South Texas, Wyoming, Alabama, and Alaska. Shell Exploration and Production Company is currently seeking a Petrophysical Engineer for their Houston, Texas location. Responsibilities : Develop project plans to continue testing and developing this novel technology with the ultimate objective to gain approval for a full scale demonstration project in Canada in order to prove commercial viability Petrophysical engineering support of appraisal campaigns, development plans and surveillance proposals, in support of moving forward with demonstration project approval Key Accountabilities Work cooperatively with existing technology and development teams to DETERMINE and EVALUATE an optimal fit-for-purpose DEVELOPMENT and SURVEILLANCE STRATEGY required for application of this technology in a commercial demonstration project Work cooperatively with existing technology teams to help accelerate the development and commercial application of this novel technology Propose / lead resource delineation efforts for update of static Petrel model Provide input for the modification of static Petrel models for commercial scale project requiring evaluation of existing and planned subsurface well and other supporting data (as a member of a development team) Liaison with Shell lab for core and core plug analysis, geochemistry, geomechanics Support reservoir, geologic, economic feasibility, development and optimization studies Support generation of necessary project management documentation Interface and coordinate with other internal disciplines and teams Balance the needs of these disciplines and teams and use these needs to steer the design and evaluation of the project, particularly as they pertain to project implementation and alignment Identify and recommend further technical effort Requirements : Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer Bachelors degree (preferably higher) in Geological, Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Engineering or Minimum of 4 years experience in Petrophysical engineering including static and dynamic model development experience Experience in high-temperature (thermal) onshore environments would be a strong advantage but not required Additional Requirements Well developed inter-personal and communication skills Ability to work with and lead a multi-discipline team Interest in planning and application of new technical concepts Interest in resource development Interest in economic optimization Ability to develop and follow your own work plans Motivated / Self-starter
