Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA)

This is a 6 month contract position

No benefits

Pomeroy IT Solutions, Inc. has immediate need for a senior QAA to test and support our application which stores and manages customer data for our organization. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of QA/Test processes and how our customer data systems work. They also need to be detailed oriented, and enjoy problem solving/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with system analysts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria
- Develop and execute manual and automated tests that ensure the quality of application changes
- Identify test issues and work with developers to help resolve system problems

Required Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of QA/Testing methods and exposure to system testing processes
- Demonstrated ability to test webservices / webmethods
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage priorities
- Hands-on experience in systems development projects
- Knowledge of the software development methodologies be they done in Waterfall or Agile
- Very familiar with automated testing tools such as QTP
- Strong understanding of Databases, DB2 and MS SQL in particular, able to create queries, understand schemas and overall functioning of database engines.
- Working experience with Progressive Systems is a plus
- Reviews test cases of other team members and provides coaching and feedback.
- Modifies test cases in accordance to changing requirements or design.
- Identifies additional opportunities to use automated technologies within functional/system area.
- Performs advanced troubleshooting of software defects and/or automated scripts.
- May lead quality assurance responsibilities and associated functions for projects (requirements, risk assessment, estimating, test approach, reviews, overall organization and coordination of testing activities, implementation handoff, post elevate support, analyst support, usability, etc.).
