CITY: Plainville STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Schematic capture, working from engineering design notes, you will be required to update schematics, maintenance of parts libraries utilizing PADS Power Logic PCB Design using double sided, multi-layer high density, surface mount and through-hole technologies. Understanding of component placement sensitivities as well as "Design For Manufacturing" philosophies utilizing PADS PCB Generation of related documentation including assembly, drill, silk screen, solder mask & solder paste drawings, layer drawings, bills of materials, Gerber files etc. Check plot and final release purposes Follow current standard Doc Control Guidelines. Incorporate, revise, & create, Engineering Change Orders, Component Requests, Source Control Docs. & other controlled documents as required Organize, implement & follow through day-to-day tasks on a priority basis Inspect day-to-day task progress & provide status of progress & problems to supervisor. Suggest, discuss & reach consensus with team members & supervisor on problem resolutions Adhere to project schedules, commitments, compliance, quality, reliability & ease of manufacturing guidelines & practices Provide Supervisor weekly written project status reports on problems, resolution plans, and deviations from schedules & commitments Assist in determining feasibility of proposed revisions for product modification/upgrade projects and the estimation of implementation time, & proposed project schedule Interface with manufacturing throughout design, development & prototype cycle to assure result is revised product which can be efficiently manufactured. Assist in the transfer of revised designs and test procedures to manufacturing, & provide continuing support to released products Interface with our Product Qualification & Compliance Engineering and/or lab and regulatory compliance contacts on compliance, quality, ease of manufacture, & related issues. Qualifications/Requirements: Experience: Five or more years of PCB design experience. Familiarity with sensitive analog and high-speed digital circuits. Excellent communication skills, initiative and creativity. Education and Knowledge: Associates degree in an accredited technical program or equivalent Knowledge of PADS ProLogic, PADS PCB, and AutoCAD required. ====================== * You must submit your application for employment through COS (internal GE only) or http://gecareers.com (external) to be considered. * You must be 18 years or older. * You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process. * You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process. * You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. * You must be willing to work out of an office in Plainville, CT. * If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating (e.g., Highly Valued) Desired: Knowledge of SBT and Workshop helpful. Must be able to produce, review and analyze detailed technical information, concepts and ideas. Must take the initiative to continuously interact and communicate with others.
