GenTech Systems is looking for highly professional PC/LAN Technicians who can work in a team environment as well as independently to service a large and growing portfolio of Small-Medium Business clients throughout the region.

We have immediate openings for PC/LAN Technicians to provide telephone and in-person support for hardware, software and network issues in the NY/NJ/PA region. Strong customer service/interpersonal communication skills are a must. The ability to take initiative and have patience are a must for this heavy end user support role. Background in call center environment or computer lab experience is a plus. 40 hours per week M-F with occasional call backs or weekend work. Must have own transportation. Some travel to customer locations is required; mileage reimbursed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The PC/LAN Technician will-
Answer customer calls and troubleshoot technical problems over the phone and in person. Respond to automated alerts from Managed Services Servers and monitoring tools. Document and track all work via computerized ticketing system. Assist customers with PC, Application and Network issues. Perform customer call backs as needed. Identify, recommend and deploy new technologies for customers as needed.
PC/LAN Techs will take part in everyday tasks at multiple client sites, such as Installation of PC’s, printers and network hardware. Monitoring and Maintenance of all computing hardware, software and peripheral equipment and keeping current inventory for each client site.

Preferred Technical Skills and Credentials-
Windows 2000/XP (Vista is a plus)
Windows Server 2000/2003/SBS (Exchange is a plus)
Familiarity with Dell PC’s, Laptops and Servers (DCSE a plus)
Basic Router/Firewall operations (Cisco & SonicWall a plus)
MCP / MCSE / MCSA
A+ / Network+
