Cummins engines range in output from 64 to 6000 horsepower. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Manage, supervise, and provide leadership for the branch parts department. Manage personnel, inventory, dealers, training, and marketing of all parts, services, and associated products. Focus on parts growth in sales. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage Inventory • Maintain proper stocking level of all parts to support products and services of Cummins Rocky Mountain LLC. • Monitor all special order items; develop an inventory for items frequently ordered. • Monitor inventory layout, for efficient utilization of facility. • Assists in preparation of Annual Inventory. • Meet or exceed CIM dashboards 2. Manage Personnel • Scheduling of personnel to cover day-to-day workload throughout the day. • Develop customer awareness in all parts employees. • Improve individual sales techniques. • Monitor and improve telephone technique to ensure a positive customer impact at all times. • Provide cross training for all positions so that the department will be diverse enough to properly handle any situations as they may arise. • Provide technical updates and new product training. • Ensure Mail Packs are completed on a timely basis. • Complete reviews on Parts personnel. • Maintain a safe working environment. 3. Manage Facility and Equipment • Maintain the facility in a clean condition at all times. • Make sure that all employees are aware that a clean, well-kept facility is another selling tool for Cummins Rocky Mountain LLC being a highly professional organization. 4. Manage Expenses • Control all costs of operational supplies. • Analyze systems and measures to reduce overall cost i.e. freight and overtime. • Control the handling costs of all-special orders, cores, and returns. 5. Manage Administration • Proper handling of all paperwork • Timely posting of all parts. • Timely invoicing of all orders. • Proper and timely handling of cores. • Manage inventory management reports. 6. Customer Relations • Investigate and resolve customer complaints or problems in the timeliest manner possible. 7. Business • Promote branch service, parts, engines, generators, and all allied products and services to its customers. • Understand and communicate marketing programs both internally and to our customers. • Maintain a clean parts counter area and point of purchase displays for new products and promotional items at all times. 8. Parts Department Leadership • Expected to have good working rapport with branch parts department and other department employees. • Assists in coordination of daily operation of Parts Department. • Maintain a detailed knowledge of each parts position and responsibilities. 9. Teamwork • Work closely with service department in order to maintain the right mix of parts and reduce the probability of down time for the service department. 10. Requirements: Qualifications • Ability to collect, analyze and draw conclusions from data • Ability to influence individuals and teams to follow documented procedures • Demonstrated change management skills in order to influence individuals and teams during the implementation of changes • Mechanical aptitude and experience • Good written and verbal communication skills Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S) preferred or three years of related parts experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
