 Parts Manager

 

The Nixon Power Services Company Parts Manager is responsible for the productive and professional management of the division’s central Parts Department operations and staff, as well as the Warehousing, Shipping and Receiving (PSRW) functions associated with the tenant facility. Based in Nashville, TN, the position reports directly to Nixon Power’s Vice President and Director, Aftermarket Sales and Service; and works closely with all Aftermarket Managers, their staffs and management; and staffs of other departments.

 

Responsibilities_____________________

 

Responsibilities require a specific focus on proven process and procedure in order to:

 

·         Effectively control inventory by managing inventory levels through consistent achievement of acceptable ‘turns’ and minimizing slow-moving and obsolete parts.

·         Minimize cost though aggressive management of departmental operating and personnel expenses.

Successfully manage the company’s Counter Parts Sales operation with financial responsibility to optimize gross margin through increased sales volume and reduced cost of goods sold.

·         Prioritize transactional accuracy in the central Parts Warehouse and throughout the organization to maximize profitability.

·         Support the company’s Service Parts supply operation, including management of key accounts (including Nixon dealerships).

·         Assume the lead position in developing, implementing, training, and demonstrating PSRW “best practices” for integration into the PSRW funtions at all division branches.

·         Manage the Parts Department Staff to achieve high levels of teamwork, personal accountability, and internal and external customer satisfaction.

Directly supervise four (4) PSRW staff members with responsibility to hire, train, motivate, and evaluate. Work closely with branch Aftermarket Managers to meet customer service expectations at all levels and throughout Nixon Power’s regional and commercial footprint.Maximize division-wide Aftermarket productivity and profitability through the execution of seamless and efficient transfer of Parts and accessories to branch Technicians, Service vehicles and parts cages.Demonstrate a productive and collaborative commercial partnership with Kohler Power Systems and all vendor/suppliers.

 

Education and experience______________

 

Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Skills and abilities____________________

 

·         Experience with and proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically spreadsheet creation, analysis, and management.

·         Demonstrated working knowledge of commercial mathmatics including calculation of discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.

·         Self-starter, exercises good judgment, is proactive, and demonstrates timely follow-through.

·         Practiced organizational skills; adherence to timelines and schedules; and attention to detail.

·         Professional and effective skills of written and verbal communication.

·         Basic knowledge of Parts Management, including an understanding of Great Plains; WinSoft (or similar network applications/software) or, minimally, intellectual and commercial competency to complete network and software training.

·         Willingness and ability to manage through collaboration; embrace accountability; share responsibility; and develop employees for personal and professional growth.
