Position Description:

Summary: Under the direction of the National Director of Implementation Services, the Educational Consultant in Laredo, Texas is responsible for providing professional development, training and advocacy for Houghton Mifflin Learning Technologies - Riverdeep products. The Educational Consultant is primarily responsible for implementing technology integration into the classroom and for account management and customer satisfaction of assigned schools and/or districts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) Schedules and conducts curriculum and management systems training for staff development of both internal and external clients. Strategizes with Regional Marketing Managers and technical support team members to assess the optimal way to meet and exceed customer requirements and ensure satisfaction. Utilizes current research and educational knowledge in working with customers to assess needs, develop and articulate goals, and develop implementation plans and projects for client school districts and school sites. Manages the assimilation of Riverdeep software into the curriculum, as well as the dissemination of information about new versions, updates, additions etc. Monitors site performance for appropriate instructional use. Facilitates implementation plans in school sites. Monitors and maintains communication related to site performance, effectiveness of implementation and strategies for continuation. Attends and participates in assigned workshops and conferences to keep abreast of current products and educational trends.

Qualifications:

MUST have K-12 teaching experience MUST live local to Laredo, Texas Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Education from an accredited college or university recognized for teacher training (Master’s degree given preference). Proven experience in Professional Development/Staff Training initiatives. Current expertise in instructional pedagogy. Mathematics or Science education background preferred. K-12 teaching experience is required. Technical integration in the classroom is valuable but not required. Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite. Proficiency with applications that run across the Worldwide Web is a prerequisite. This is not a full time position. Per diem employees work when needed and paid a daily rate for their contribution.
