Project Summary:

Monitoring CE consultant firms for general compliance with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) documentation and procedural requirements.

This position will monitor consultant engineering firms performing construction engineering and management on various local government projects administered by the Utah Dept. of Transportation (UDOT) in Regions 1 & 2 (Salt Lake City Area and Northern Utah) and will both monitor and report on compliance with FHWA and UDOT requirements.

 

Description of Duties:

Provide constructability review of Local Government PS&E plan set Review CE contract for adequate staffing and certification Attend preconstruction and weekly partnering meetings Review project documentation for conformance with UDOT’s requirements Provide conflict resolution for project issues Conduct process review to monitor the consultant construction management for conformance with UDOT and FHWA requirements Review contract pay estimates for adherence to UDOT requirements Review change orders for accuracy and compliance with UDOT standards Provide monthly status reports to UDOT District Engineer Other duties as assigned

 

Registrations/Certifications Required:

Grade: P-09

EIT and/or PE registration is preferred

Education and Qualifications Required: (Include Years of Experience Req’d)

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical-related field and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
