Our Client is a market leading information Technology company providing on - demand agro-chemical research data and information resources that help its clients drive decisions and shape strategies in terms of product distribution, utilization and regulatory compliance. The Company has grown aggressively over the last 6 years, both organically and through acquisitions. This growth is poised to more than double revenues over the next three years with the release of their latest revolutionary, web-based application.

The Candidate: 
Our client is looking for an outstanding individual for the position of Chief Technology Officer. The CTO will assist the President & General Manager in establishing strategic corporate objectives and have the responsibility to drive that strategy tactically through his/her operational direction of the Technology function, including product engineering and IT Network administration.

The ideal candidate would be an individual with a track record of significant successes in the following areas:
Scaling the operations and technology of a software and services company to capture its aggressive growth strategy. Correspondingly building Agile infrastructure to support that kind of growth. Building and developing winning departmental teams capable of achieving aggressive growth plans of the Company. Driving new software product engineering and product releases to market. Cost control while maintaining quality commitments of the company.
Professional Competencies:
Executive-level leadership experience in acquisition scenarios. Experience in Start Ups a major plus. 10 years of engineering management experience in small to mid-size software technology companies ($10 - $50 million). Technical background and experience in Agile methodologies for software development, Object Oriented Architecture, .Net application, SQL Database management and/or database administration highly desirable. High interpersonal skills. Ability to function in a collaborative and congenial environment, demonstrate high integrity, generate trust and build alliances with co-workers, peers and partners. Strong mentorship and enabling skills. Familiarity with Agro-chemical market would be a plus. BS/BA Degree in Software Engineering or related degree. MBA preferred. Strong drive and career aspirations but not a compulsive job hopper.
Objectives of the Chief Technology Officer position:

Design and implement new product release processes with focus on Version 2 release of their new product by December ’08.  The CTO will be the lead person to drive the release plan with executable components like Product Release schedules, Timelines and Service Packs. Focus on developing and building an Agile and scalable product development/engineering team for the company capable of hitting aggressive production milestones of the company.  Benchmarking: Determine skill sets required at various levels; benchmark the ideal requirements of each position relative to the company’s growth plans; map existing team against benchmark; determine areas of re-training or transition and hiring plans. Acclimating the team to a professional and performance focused culture. Integrate and scale internal enterprise systems with focus on Finance, Client Services, Human Resources and Sales operations. Provide leadership over IT Networking area of the Technology group to ensure that it is well integrated with the product engineering and internal IT infrastructure side. Currently, this function has been outsourced. Evaluate the quality Vs Cost issues Evaluate budget within the first 90 days. Meet EBIDTA targets and execute against those targets Maintain and improve costs. More effectively manage resources and pricing of services.
Compensation & Travel:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Includes six-figure base, bonus plan and benefits plan. Travel will be up to 30%.
