OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Established Southern California manufacturing company is a dominant leader in the manufacturer and distribution of safety cutting tools, utility knives, blades and accessories and is poised for explosive growth in the next five years. We are seeking two high energy, dynamic Sr. Sales Representatives to aggressively pursue new business and expand our customer base, as well as service current accounts. Extensive overnight travel (approximately 50%) is expected. Sales Representatives will work out of their home offices. Positions are available in the following U.S. territories: 1) Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana and 2) New England States (with possible addition of Delaware, Maryland, and Washington DC). These are excellent opportunities for experienced sales representatives with strong prospecting and business development skills to join a growing and extremely successful organization. We are looking for aggressive self starters. Must have good work ethic, self discipline, and persistence. Primary Responsibilities
Prospect and close new product business. This will include cold calls, lead follow up, existing account management, and networking (through both phone and personal contact). Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate personnel (i.e., purchasing, safety and risk management, other key personnel). Develop customer base necessary to meet all sales forecasts and budgets. Collaborate with/assist other sales team members on successful sales techniques and marketing strategies. Implement these sales and marketing strategies for assigned territory/markets. Attend trade shows and association meetings as required.Required Skills and Sales Related Competencies:
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Professional presentation and organization skills Team player and customer service oriented Strong internal drive to succeed and ability to self-motivate; Enthusiastic take charge attitude. Strong time management skills. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn internal ERP system. Possess clean driving record, valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and ability to rent a car.Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university; or equivalent training/experience in sales, marketing, business or related field. 3-5 years successful outside sales experience with a proven background of successful sales prospecting and sales closure. Sales experience with a manufacturing company is desirable, preferably in hand tool or safety industry, but neither is mandatory.
