A full-time opportunity is available for an Organizational Consultant at Lifespan based in Providence, Rhode Island.  Lifespan is a $1 billion not-for-profit health system that includes three teaching hospitals of Brown Medical School: Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital; The Miriam Hospital; and Bradley Hospital, the nation’s oldest psychiatric hospital for children. Lifespan also includes Newport Hospital, a community-based hospital in Newport, RI.

 

The Organizational Consultant analyzes, designs, implements and evaluates large-scale initiatives to support the execution of strategic goals set by senior leaders. These include team alignment, organizational change, succession planning, and training, among others. Consults with executives to identify organizational priorities and challenges, and assess and recommend options.

 

The incumbent will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and must be prepared to work collaboratively on a wide range of educational and training programs and services offered to employees as part of our identity as a learning organization. The successful candidate will be attuned to the challenges of healthcare and be expected to show an ongoing commitment to maintaining up to date knowledge of trends and best practices in organizational development.

 

At least ten years related experience in organizational development and educational programming. Management experience and consultation to senior executives gained in a similarly diverse and operationally complex business or institutional setting required.  Demonstrated abilities in key areas: qualitative and quantitative assessment and metrics, theory and practice of leadership and management effectiveness, mediation and conflict resolution, competency modeling and performance management, career and executive coaching, training design and delivery, and process improvement.  Effectiveness in creating and maintaining positive relationships at all levels of the organization, ability to establish trust with organization members and ability to develop and implement innovative interventions to produce desired results under tight deadlines.

 

Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in organization development, adult education or behavioral sciences, or a related area is required.
