Senior Director – IT Supply Chain

 & Logistics SystemsOutstanding position with our Fortune 500 pharmaceutical client.  This is a very high profile role that reports directly to a vice president.  Opportunity for advancement with in the corporation is excellent.  Position is located in Peapack, NJ on very professional campus.     

 

Responsibilities:                                                       

 

Provide technology leadership for delivering capabilities that enable and drive Global Supply Network and Global Logistics processes and strategies.  This Senior Director will be responsible for the ongoing relationship between the Business Technology organization and the Global Logistics and Supply Chain leadership within Global Manufacturing.  The ideal candidate will align IT practices and integrate processes within Global Manufacturing and in coordination with Worldwide Technology across the corporation. This leader will have ultimate accountability for ongoing support of existing logistics, distribution and supply chain systems and for the successful delivery of an agreed project portfolio, within agreed budgets and timelines.

 

Responsibilities include the ongoing support of the existing Revenue Cycle System supporting the U.S. order-to-cash, Canada logistics and related processes.   Role is accountable for satisfying the design, development and ongoing support requirements of the global Forecasting, Replenishment, Transportation, Import/Export, EDI/ecommerce, Decision Support/Metric and physical Warehouse Management systems.  

 

The role places significant emphasis on aligning and integrating to other enterprise systems and processes such as the Agile Manufacturing & Supply Strategy and the global Oracle financial system. To deliver these capabilities, this role leverages resources and services across the organization as appropriate. 

 

 

The Senior Director will partner with key business process owners in Global Logistics and Supply Chain in: (1) developing technology support strategies; (2)  establishing overall implementation priorities; (3) evaluating appropriate  support systems; (4) managing IT cost profiles in relation to development and maintenance requirements which leverage global possibilities; (5)  establishing key performance standards for technology support and ensuring attainment of such standards; (6) designing and enabling a Global Supply Chain and Logistics network which extends beyond organizational boundaries to  third party partners and suppliers;  (7) stays abreast and surfaces new and emerging technologies in  support of the Global Logistics and Supply Chain mission(s). 

 

In addition to delivering logistics execution and supply chain planning systems, this role also ensures the design, build and deployment of key performance indicators, knowledge management, and decision support capabilities to Logistics and Supply Chain management.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for motivating the team and cultivating a strong talent pipeline capable of meeting both current and future technology needs.  Leader will employ continuous improvement tools and competencies for optimal productivity.  Budget consists of both an annual operational expense and a strategic capital investment plan.

 

This leader will be a contributing member of the Global Manufacturing Business Technology and Global Logistics leadership teams and as such, will be engaged in advancing the overall agenda of the broader Business Technology team.  The Senior Director will be an agent for positive transformational change bringing innovative ideas and practical approaches to this challenging role. The colleague will have an excellent understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain processes enabling effective partnership with the business for the application of information technology. The leader will cultivate relationships at all levels of the organization.  

 

This position requires a solid understanding of relevant policies and regulatory/compliance requirements.  

 

Periodic travel to logistics and manufacturing sites (internal & external) to engage partner/clients and understand operational challenges is required. Leader maintains external professional relationships for benchmarking, research, educational and personal development purposes.

 

Qualifications:                                                          

 

Minimum of 15 years professional experience in Information Technology with established track record for delivering high quality, complex application capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent knowledge of demand driven Supply Chain and Delivery Chain processes and concepts.  Prior operational experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or other supply chain roles a definite plus. A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, logistics, information technology or related field required. MBA or other relevant advanced degree highly desirable.  Successful candidate has demonstrated ability to communicate, understand, and translate business requirements into information technology needs and deliverables. Strong conceptual, analytical and system design skills are imperative.  Experience leading large technical teams and multiple concurrent initiatives in a dynamic environment required. As this position has global reach and involves end-to-end processes, the colleague must be competent in building and maintaining relationships across diverse cultures and organizational boundaries.
