Work as an individual contributor in a multi-disciplinary design team. Engineering responsibility for assigned projects in an IPT environment for precision optical design,analysis and simulation. Develop concepts & solutions for optical systems that meet customer requirements. Perform ray traces, tolerance analysis, optical system performance optimization. Perform optics assembly, alignment, and characterization tasks. Primary product applications include airborne electro-optic imaging and reconnaissance systems.

Must have the following:

Bachelor of Science in Optical Sciences, Physics or similar technical engineering discipline with strong core Optical Engineering course work. Ability to apply basic principles of optical engineering to formulate new concepts & solutions in product development for airborne reconnaissance applications in harsh environment. Proficiency with Code V or Zemax optical design tools. Note: This is an essential job requirement! Good understanding of analytical principles for optical analysis. Ability to analyze and evaluate a design concept. Basic understanding of tolerancing of optical components and systems for manufacturing methods and error budget allocation. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Must be a team player Good skills in oral & written communication and ability to present technical subjects clearly in team meetings and reviews. Willingness and ability to perform "hands-on" technical work in laboratory environment involving metrology, optical alignment, testing, data collection. Ability to independently create and develop concepts and solutions with minimal supervision 4 to 6 years of related design experience for precision complex optical systems & assemblies. Willing and able to travel domestically and/or internationally as required to meet business or customer objectives. Preferences

MS or similar graduate level engineering degree or additional BS degree in related field, e.g, opto-mechanical engineering. Prior experience in project engineering and technical leadership role .
