Our client is a major, well-established west coast producer and provider of fresh and processed food and beverage products.  The recent launch of its super-premium beverage product line has resulted in increased market share becoming one of the fastest growing beverage brands in the country.  Due to this growth, they are seeking a Category/Channel Development Manager.  The successful candidate would be the Point person on key customer’s needs.  Key focus on developing  partnerships (national programs, co-branded new products, etc.).  This position will report to the Vice President of Marketing.

 

Responsibilities

 

Support brand teams with category management expertise as required/ Support sales with customer and market level analysis and presentation preparation for meetings with retailers.Develop business building ideas through analysis of customer and marketplace trends, marketing information systems data (Nielsen, retailer scan data, etc.) and competitive activity.Manage all marketplace testing and analysis including shelf-set effectiveness, cooler impact, demo effectiveness, coupon and other program effectiveness, category management solutions, POS usage and effectiveness, etc.Support brand managers on all channel specific projects as needed.  Recommend and execute the tactical marketing plans for assigned chains to support the company’s business and profit plans.Manage all new product development projects specific to assigned chains.

 Qualifications

 

MBA (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years experience in consumer products category management or comparable field.Significant experience in classical marketing techniques, new product development, promotion development and brand building initiatives.Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills.Relevant business experience (perhaps entrepreneurial) beyond traditional Brand Management a plus.  Experience with “guerrilla” marketing tactics valuable.
