Functional Description: PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position requires basic knowledge of training concepts, policies, practices and procedures.Using fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to training development and delivery, the incumbent will perform a variety of activities specific to the training function.This will include the development of training materials for use in the explanation of TXSDU systems and programs. Activities include work analysis for training needs, training evaluation analyses and material development.The position provides day-to-day administrative support to the Training Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides input to the development of more standardized/pre-existing training materials (including skills, technical, management and staff development training) offering both presentation and content improvements. 2. Prepares periodic, standardized reports and analyses of development and training needs. 3. Performs analysis of Texas SDU training needs based on operational errors, call monitoring and program changes 4. Provides assistances to senior personnel in determining and documenting management development/training needs. 5. Maintain training records, in coordination with Training Manager, on all personnel. 6. As part of a team, may review, comment, and provide limited input regarding training methodologies and effective training techniques. 7. Maintains files of all related training materials and documentation. Updates and administers applicable database and departmental file systems. 8. Answers general questions and inquiries in support of training efforts. 9. Provides guidance/oversight to less experienced staff. 10. Observe professional standards of conduct including behavior, attendance and dress. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. HOURS Five days a week Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Overtime and weekend work may be required. Education and Typical Years Experience EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: · High school diploma or equivalent. · 1 - 3 years of training experience in related technical/professional services area. Experience in a training or HR environment preferred. · Operational hands-on experience in the Texas SDU preferred · Proficient in TXCSES and excellent research skills preferred · Detail oriented work approach a must. · Ability to use Microsoft Office and related software · Strong knowledge and understanding of company policies, procedures, and practices. · Excellent written and communication skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills · Ability to interface at multiple levels of leadership. Special Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Works in an office environment, ability to work overtime if required, uses personal computer, photocopier, and other office equipment, position may require sitting for long periods of time and considerable handling of paperwork, as well as keyboarding requiring repetitive motions with fingers.
