Our client is a well-established, growing, reputable Design, Build General Contractor has an immediate opportunity for an Operations Manager. The steady, rapid growth of our company has created the need to hire someone who can step in and immediately run multiple projects and Project Managers. The successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities, detailed oriented for complete finish package, a passion for timeliness and excellence, and the ability to communicate to all levels in an organization.  Ten (10) plus years experience in commercial, industrial and/or institutional construction and five (5) plus years of verifiable excellent management skills may qualify you for this position.  This position reports directly to the Vice President.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

Minimum five years supervisory experience in the commercial/institutional construction industry;Specific experience with detailed finish packages; hospitals, schools, healthcare facilities, etc. is required;Experience in managing projects at or below budget;Demonstrated ability to effectively manage Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, craftsman and vendors;Verifiable success at forecasting material, equipment and manpower;Ability to read and understand financial statements;Self-Motivated with the desire to function independently;A passion for quality, timely work within budgeted guidelines. 

Essential Functions:

 

Ability to assume total responsibility from receipt of the bank budget and signed contract through to completion and final payment of multiple projects;Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers for large hospital, schools, and other institutional/commercial construction projects;Effectively manage and schedule all projects on-time and within budget;Insure that all projects meet the high quality standards required by our company;Responsible for monitoring profitability of jobs;BS in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred;Verifiable ability to write reports, business correspondence and be able to read plans;Management by example with the ability to solve practical problems;Professional aptitude to attend job site meetings and interact with financial institutions, customers, employees, vendors and project team members;Ensure that strict safety standards are followed at all times.
