Job Posting:     Operations Manager Reports To:       Senior Operations Manager Location:          Campbellsville, KY (1.5 hrs south of Louisville)  Amazon.com is seeking an Operations Manager for our Fulfillment Center in Campbellsville, KY.  Amazon.com is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers from right here in Kentucky.           The Operations Manager has complete responsibility for inbound operations, outbound operations or a functional process responsibility within the fulfillment center on a specified shift or across multiple shifts.  Responsibilities: Leading and supervising a team of four to six area managers (front-line supervisors) and 300-400 hourly associates in outbound or inbound operations within the fulfillment center.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the operation.

 

Carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.  These include interviewing and training both exempt and nonexempt employees; having full accountability for setting and meeting operational goals; strategic planning and forecasting; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; resolving problems; and staffing; as well as the development of the area managers and standard operating procedures. ·         This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment. ·         The ideal candidate will have  o        a strong commitment to employee development,   o        an understanding of Lean and Six Sigma, and o        a keen interest in and familiarity with WMS systems, o        an exceptional level of dedication, motivation, and intelligence.  o        strong oral and written communication skills, ando        a strong technical and analytical aptitude, are requirements.   A bachelor’s degree is REQUIRED, preferably in engineering, operation, or a related field, 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment are required.   Amazon.com offers competitive packages, including comprehensive heath care, 401K, restricted stock units, growth potential, and a challenging and exciting work environment.
