Position Description:

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the overall program operations of the State of Nevada Public Programs and manages operational department supervisors and coordinators. Coordinates activities with other Managers in the office and oversees completion of monthly activity reports. Job Responsibilities: • Responsible for the overall program operations with additional responsibilities working with member and clinical managers. • Responsible for the program coordination, scheduling, work plan management, status reporting and issue resolution tracking. • Resolve issues or transmits to the appropriate personnel or staff members for prompt resolution. • Coordinates and directs the operations of the Nevada Service Center Public Programs and obligations are met in a timely manner. • Develop and measure metrics related to the day to day operational success of the Nevada State Contract. • Develops and maintains procedures and practices for accomplishing department goals and objectives. • Ensures that necessary, qualified personnel are provided for successful acompletion of assignments. • Reports and measures progress toward operational goals through periodic reviews. • Monitor revenue and expenditures to assure program is operating within defined budget. • Supervises and schedules training for all non-clinical staff • Supervises new or special programs. • Attends to operational problems. • Monitors trouble logs and performs troubleshooting as needed. • Assume responsibilities of the Executive Director, as directed, in their absence. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a health services related field, business administration emphasis in healthcare and /or related clinical services; Master’s Degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: • Five (5) years demonstrated experience in progressively responsible positions in the healthcare field, preferably working in a managed care and/or public sector environment. • Strong organizational, analytical, and financial skills. • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. • Experience in a senior-level position related to Medicaid medical management, mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse, chronic disease management or related health and human service system is highly preferred. • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers and vendors. • Ability to manage work flows, make needed adjustments. • Highly proficient in time study/ work analysis. • Ability to exercise flexibility, tact, courtesy, good judgment and patience when working with others. • Ability to implement changes and understand and implement best practices as they relate to the environment, client deliverables and industry standards. • Supervisory experience with a variety of departments, with excellent interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills. • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment. • Willing to take initiative in making suggestions for improvement of service. • Computer knowledge proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. • Ability to prioritize, think and listen analytically. • Ability to effectively deal with constant change. • Flexible for weekly travel. • Knowledge of customer service and customer service interaction.
