OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE SITE MANAGER

WIND FARM - Shelby, Montana

The AW-1500 turbine was designed with the perspective of the wind farm owner and since its introduction in 2002, has manufactured and installed over 600 AW-1500 wind turbine generators worldwide.

 

Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager and be based in Northwest Montana, Acciona Windpower North America LLC seeks an O&M Site Manager to train, direct and oversee commissioning, service, repair, maintenance and operations on wind turbines generators, related equipment, support equipment and facilities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Manage subcontractor Wind Turbine Technicians to perform assembly, commissioning, testing, repair and maintenance on wind turbine generators, related equipment, support equipment and facilities. Train and support Wind Turbines Technicians in, or conduct, predictive maintenance checks, such as Infrared Fault Detection Surveys, Corona Surveys, Ultrasonic Surveys, etc.Train and support Wind Turbines Technicians in troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing, and/or retrofitting of low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical or hydraulic components. Lead and train personnel to safely and efficiently accomplish their duties.Instill confidence in personnel through demonstrated integrity and skill.Review, negotiation and assure compliance with subcontractor frame agreements for the performance of activities related to AW-1500 operations and maintenance.Conduct and review safety analyses and reviews of hazards and energy sources.  Train personnel in and monitor use of appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner.Review or conduct oil analysis’s, gas chromatography reports, and Ferrographic reportsBe proficient at Root Cause Analysis to accurately determine failure mode and reason.Conduct and maintain inventory of tools, expendables, and spares.Complete and maintain required and accurate documentation, records, and budgets.Construct and revise budgets related to operations and maintenance functions.Ensure safety and health requirements and cleanliness of facility and tools. Maintain required training certifications and proficiencies for self and team.Represent Acciona at all levels, including professional presentations to national trade groups.Support and maintain local, public and landowner relations.Address concerns at community, legislative, taxation, regulatory, and tribal bodies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must be able and willing to travel to various locations (including international) for extended periods.Must be able and willing to monitor wind farm performance and reliability at all times.Must be flexible to work anytime.Must possess the ability to think and analyze situations in a fast paced environment.Must have previous experience working with wind energy systems (3-5 years).Must be able to work independently, and have supervisory experience to direct a team. Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.Must be able to distinguish different colors.Must be able to work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with confined spaces, cold weather, heat, wind, odors, pollen, dust, grasses, and weeds.Must be able to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds.Must be able to climb vertical ladders and work at heights of 280 feet.Valid drivers license in your state of residence (Montana)Prefer 2 or 4 year technical degree.
