Description: The Teacher Assistant is responsible for implementing appropriate grading strategies that assist each student in achieving their academic potential while also providing superior customer service to all internal and external customers. Typical activities include: - Grade student work as prescribed by KVE using pedagogical strategies and established KVE grading rubrics that contribute to a climate where students are "actively engaged" in meaningful learning experiences. - Provide feedback on graded assignments, in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. - Use effective written communication skills with students on a regular basis. - Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents and community. - Review contemporary educational literature to remain current with information related to job responsibility. - Grade assignments within 24-48 hours. A likely activities breakdown (must equal 100%): - Grades student assignments and provides feedback to students 75% - Collaborates with Instructional Team Leaders and Teachers to produce learning experiences (i.e., assignment feedback) that will enhance student achievement, student retention, and student completion. 20% - Preparing reports and Standard Operating Procedures 5% Qualifications: Experience Required: - Must be Missouri resident and a Missouri certified teacher in the subject area A minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
