Job Description: Accounting Assistant Anthony Lepore Warren, MI THIS IS A WM / 1-800-PACKRAT JOINT VENTURE I. Job Summary Computes, classifies, records, and verifies basic numerical data for use in maintaining a complete and systematic set of business transactions. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. · Balances general or subsidiary ledgers. · Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating simple business transactions. · Verifies and posts details of simple business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases. · Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy. Prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable and payable, and various other items pertinent to the operation of a business. · Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers. · Extracts general ledger information. · Reconciles bank statements. · Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures. · Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services. III. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties. IV. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or G.E.D, and zero to four years previous experience. Preferred: High school diploma or G.E.D, plus additional or specialized training, and zero to four years previous experience. B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements None required. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required None required.
