Job Description 1. Evaluates patients referred for occupational therapy incorporating data from medical records, patient/family interview and observation of patient performance. 2.Assesses performance components of strength, range of motion, coordination, perception, sensation, cognition, as related to independence in living skills. Determines rehab potential. 3.In collaboration with the patient and other team members, establishes appropriate goals, and develops the OT plan of care. 4.Implements and/or supervises the implementation of patients' treatment plan. 5.Seek resources as appropriate. 6.Administers treatments requiring the skills and knowledge of a specialist 7.Modifies treatment plan as needed based upon clinical outcomes of therapy. 8.Determines appropriateness of patient's response to treatment and consults with physician concerning modifications in plan of care. 9.Designs individualized home programs and educates patient, family, and ancillary personnel in specific procedures, equipment utilization and home programs 10.Documents patients' response, therapeutic techniques and any modification to treatment plan or goals. 11.Adheres to treatment and safety precautions. 12.Delegates routine care to support personnel according to their expertise/experience, maintaining the responsibility for the patient and treatment programs at all times. 13.Completes billing, attendance, and other records as required by department and facility. 14.Assists in safe and efficient management and maintenance of occupational therapy program areas, equipment and supplies 15.Assists in developing, implementing, improving and managing services, and programs. Qualifications Current Certification as an OTR through the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Rare exceptions may be made for individuals who are eligible to sit for a certification exam within 3 months of hire. Current CPR within 30 days of hire.
