Corporate Casualty Underwriting Manager/AVP- (NYCorpCasUWAVP)

A stable and growing P&C carrier is looking for a Corporate Casualty Underwriting Manager/AVP for their Midtown New York Corporate Underwriting office.  This position leads the following product lines; Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Commercial Umbrella and Excess Casualty.  The essential functions of this position include: Review and approve Corporate Underwriting Guidelines, set and review the underwriting strategies with the line managers, and work closely with headquarters and branch office underwriting departments.  You will oversee the field audit process, be responsible for compliance issues, and the corporate underwriting staff.

            Work closely with other internal departments, be responsible for the department budget, oversee reinsurance management, and handle the field referral authorities.  The position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of internal carrier casualty underwriting experience, 5 years of management experience, and this position reports to the VP of Corporate Underwriting.  The salary is up to the mid-$100Ks DOE plus bonuses with great benefits and a bonus program.

New York Senior Casualty Underwriter (NYSrCasUW)

            A solid/growing carrier is looking for a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join their Large Accounts team in the Midtown New York regional office.  This underwriter will be responsible for evaluating commercial/industrial Casualty risks acceptability and recommending underwriting action consistent with the guidelines.  This underwriter is responsible for account ownership by controlling new business submissions, renewals and other transactions including, underwriting, loss control, audit, losses, and file documentation.  You will need to have 5-10 years of commercial casualty (WC, GL, AL) underwriting carrier experience, and Guaranteed Cost, Retros and Large Deductible underwriting experience is a plus.

New York Underwriting Technical Assistant (NYTAUW)

            A solid/growing carrier is looking for an Underwriting Technical Assistant to join their P&C Property Underwriting team in the Midtown New York regional office.  This TA will be responsible for assisting the large account property underwriters in the preparation of new business quotes, renewals, endorsement and cancellations.  You will prepare the rating worksheets, enter into the PMS system, and work on both automated and manual rating programs, including some manually created file documentation.  You will need to have 3-5 years of commercial property underwriting assistant carrier experience, and knowledge of a CAT modeling program is a plus.

NY Actuarial Analyst-(NYActuarialAnalyst)

            Our client, a major P&C insurance carrier, seeks an Actuarial Analyst in their Corporate Office in Midtown.  This individual calculates loss and loss expense reserves, rates, rating plans and dividend levels. Performs profit cost center analysis and special projects.  The essential functions are: Develops rating formula for national and state programs; Performs Reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and presents results to representatives of other departments in a quarterly meeting;  Prepares supporting data and its interpretation for the filing of rates with State Insurance Commissioners; Guides management and underwriting personnel regarding items involving mathematical or actuarial procedures to determine the proper action to be taken regarding pricing and rates;  Calculates and presents to management needed reserve levels for losses and loss adjustment expenses based on company and industry statistics, and understanding of company operations and of external influences.
