POSITION 
SUMMARY:

The UNM School-Based Health Center Program operates 8 school-based health centers in APS schools. The Nurse Practitioner will provide services in 1 school-based health center serving middle school students and their siblings. Services will include primary care and health education. The Nurse Practitioner will also participate in development of program policies and procedures and will assist in developing and expanding clinical programs. The Nurse Practitioner will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing primary and mental health services to students during the school year and summer school period if required. Experience providing healthcare to children and adolescents required. Experience working in schools highly desired. This position will require travel within the Albuquerque metropolitan area, so a valid NM Driver's License or verification of other reliable transportation is required.

MINIMUM 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

State of New Mexico Certified Nurse Practitioner OR certification pending, as documented by temporary certificate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual, speaks and writes Spanish Experience: Providing primary health services to children and adolescents in a clinical setting Working in a school setting Working in a multidisciplinary team Working with diverse client populations Developing policies and procedures Coordinating youth development activities

CONDITIONS OF 
EMPLOYMENT:

Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check. Must be credentialed per UNM HSC policies and procedures, if billing for services under Medicare/Medicaid. CPR CertifiedMust pass a pre-employment criminal background check.Candidates for this position must be eligible for employment as verified by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA); those individuals on the OIG/GSA Exclusion Lists will not be considered for hire. Once hired, periodic checks will be made for eligibility of continued employment.
