A 500 bed teaching hospital is seeking a nurse manager to oversee a level II Emergency Room. This ER sees over 80,000 visits per year. Responsibility for a 48 bed ER with expansion to 53 beds. The manager will direct a staff of 125 FTE’s to include all aspects of administrative and operational functions. There are 16 team leaders and 1 educator. This large community hospital ER is associated with 70+% of the facilities in house admissions.

 

Experience Required:  

·        Clinical management ER experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center seeing at least 50,000 patients per year

·        Demonstrated ability to act in a leadership role

·        Budget experience

·        Excellent interpersonal communication skills

·        Flexible in setting priorities

·        Computer literate and familiar with word processing applications

·        Knowledge of JCAHO regulations, QI, as well as policy and procedure

·        Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing

·        ACLS certified

·        Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with the ability to gain Maryland licensure

·        Bachelors degree, Masters preferred
