Our client is a well-established company with over 25 years experience in the analytical market!  They have enjoyed a successful track record in recent years, resulting in sales growth of 85% over a six-year period. The majority of these sales are to OEM’s. You will be marketing analytical systems: valves, pumps, fittings, filters,  and other components.  The end-customers are chemical research laboratories mainly in the pharmaceutical and bio-technology industries and in universities.  Marketing activities include the preparation of technical literature, organizing new product launches, and participating in trade shows.  Distributor support includes preparation of catalogs, price lists, providing training to distributor sales personnel and answering customer inquiries.  The Marketing Manager will also be involved in defining product requirements for new R&D projects.    

Specific Responsibilities

v  Marketing

o   Preparation of technical product literature.

o   Updating product and company information on website.

o   Preparation of press releases for new product launches.

o   Organization of trade show participation and personally attending select shows.

v  Distributor support

o   Assisting distributors in the layout of catalogs and websites.

o   Preparation of annual price lists.

o   Training and support for distributor sales personnel.

v  R&D participation

o   Provide inputs to engineering regarding new product requirements.

 

Qualifications

v  Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

v  Experience in Sales or Marketing of products for laboratories.

v  Experience in Research & Development in a laboratory environment a plus.

v  Self-motivated.  Able to work effectively without close supervision.

v  Strong communication and presentation skills.

v  Technical writing skills.

v  Willing to spend approximately 20% of working time engaged in business travel in North America. 

v  Familiarity with material properties of plastics, basic chemical processes, and experience in the analytical instrument markets are of further benefit.

You must be within driving distance of Dover, NJ area.  No relocation will be provided.  Local candidates only.

 

Once you have gained sufficient familiarity with our client's products, markets and systems, it will be possible to reduce the requirement to two days a week, with the rest of the work being done from your home office.

Training

The candidate will work with the Engineering Department of Bio-Chem Fluidics for a period of three weeks before moving into the Sales position with the purpose of gaining intimate familiarity with our products.  One week of this training process will be conducted in our factory in Cambridge, England. 

As required, training for Microsoft Publisher or similar software for laying out literature will also be provided.

 

Compensation

v  Salary up to $90,000 per year depending on qualifications.

v  Incentive plan tied to sales growth of the distribution business.  Expectation of ~$5,000 in the average year.

v  401k plan with company participation, health insurance and life insurance coverage.
