We are seeking a “NMS Engineering Manager, Global Network” for our New York, NY facility. Job Responsibilities: Network Management Systems: • Principal engineer responsible for day-to-day performance and long-term development of a media-centric transport network management and reporting platform designed to distribute operational workload of a global media network. • Directly perform and assist regional engineers in software and hardware deployment including compatibility (regression) testing, managing vendor relationships, distributing release notes and training guides, documenting operational details, features and bug-fixes. • Implement changes to NMS database, servers, workstations and graphic displays to accurately and clearly depict the status of individual transport services, network elements and other infrastructure as required by network operations protocols and client contract terms. Network Design: • Provide design detail and cost data to facility managers and projects leads for adding new sites of functionality. • Develop procedures to enable efficient implementation, reporting and improved performance of NMS infrastructure • Guide implementation of network management hardware and server platforms throughout all functional departments within the company and client premise locations. Network Operations: • Operate and maintain graphics-based global Network Management and Monitoring System (NMMS) in conjunction with local engineering and operations personnel. • In conjunction with DTM and IP engineers coordinate integration of DTM functionality into NMS systems to provide appropriate operational capabilities. • Generate and distribute regular reports on network health and service availability to be used for client and vendor management. Job Qualifications: • 5+ years of hands on experience operating and maintaining graphical network management applications and associated telemetry infrastructure with in-depth knowledge of SNMP MIB structures and related IETF recommendations and protocols. • Experience must include IP networks operations management, IP and Ethernet transport networking and test and measurement tools for Service Level Management (SLM) including MPEG-2/4 transport QoS/QoE. • Experience must include SQL database management and architecture, server management and maintenance. • Must possess a strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a dymanic environment. • Demonstration of strong written and spoken communication skills required Educational/Technical Requirements: • BS in computer science of equivalent work experience, specialized training certificate a plus. • Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory and Linux OD hands-on knowledge is mandatory. • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL and MySQL is mandatory • Cisco CCIP, CCIE, CCDP and CCSP certification are a strong plus • Microsoft MCSE and MCSA are a plus.
