Title: Network Analyst
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Responsible for providing support for telecommunication engineering and system management support for communications infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES: -Configure, manage, and operate the data and video network cable plant infrastructure.
-Maintain voice, video, and data circuits.
-Provide network installation, network upgrade, and network operation support.
-Perform system administration of all Network Engineering servers running Solaris, FreeBSD, Windows 2000, and NT.
-Configure and maintain video conference and video related infrastructure.
-Configure,maintain, and operate the video distribution and redistribution network infrastructure.
-Operate and maintain the data network infrastructure.
-Operate and maintain the VoIP network infrastructure.
-Provide data, video, and VoIP network support to the user community.
-Research, test and evaluate new network software and hardware to provide technology recommendations for the project.
-Utilize the Network Monitoring System to monitor and generate network usage reports.
-Assist implementation projects for new network technologies by gathering user requirements and assisting in the deployment efforts amongst the various project teams.
-Document data, video, and voice network procedures and strategies as well as performing feasibility studies.
-Prepare technical documentation such as cable plant specifications, requirements documentation, scope of work, etc.
-Comply with and implement project safety standards on all work activities.
-Perform other network systems responsibilities as directed by the Network Engineering Team Lead.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems,
-3 years of related experience.
-Demonstrated experience and knowledge in low voltage cable management.
-Demonstrated experience and knowledge in data networking.
-Demonstrated experience and knowledge in administration of UNIX and Microsoft operating systems.
-Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot network problems, server problems, and auxiliary equipment problems.
-Excellent troubleshooting skills.
-Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in performing assigned tasks.
-Demonstrated ability to work both in a group as a member of a team or individually to solve complex technical networking issues.
-Good written and oral communication skills.
-Must have valid drivers license and be capable of driving motor vehicle to various remote work sites including Nevada Test Site.
