General General Dynamics Information Technology has an opening for a Network Engineer in Hines, IL. Candidate will provide ongoing support of Internet Gateways. Perform routine maintenance of firewalls and various internet communication appliances. Troubleshoot complex problems involving Cisco equipment and interoperation with appliances from various vendors. Provide 24x7 support. Coordinate with teammates located at facilities in Hines and West Virginia. Should possess good working knowledge of ACLs, NAT, Proxying, and Firewall configuration and operation. Must be able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing

A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university. Certification from appropriate training institutions is desirable such as Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Internet Professional (CCIP), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

This position requires a minimum of eight years experience, of which at least six years in the last nine calendar years must be specialized. Specialized experience may include design of LAN/WANs with a software supplier, systems integrator, engineering consulting firm or an ISP, CLEC, IXC, or a LEC.
