Description: SUMMARY

Develops, expands, and maintains the digital video network. Design EOD serving group topologies in accordance with current contingency factors. Design and maintain municipal video interconnects. Provide design assistance and operational instruction to unified school districts on institutional networks. Design, implement and maintain mandated EAS requirements. Manage and control bandwidth usage. Interface with local television networks and satellite providers on all technical issues and matters. Designs and implements network expansion as required. Responsible for supervision of all operations relating to the installation, operation and maintenance of digital and analog video and RF signal processing systems within the MTC and STC facilities. Duties include organization of documentation related to systems performance testing and preventative maintenance programs, along with completion of timekeeping data and employee performance reviews and organizing, and coordinating project. Position requires flexibility to work various shifts as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervision of MTC Engineering staff
Organizing, coordinating and implementing projects
Through understanding of advanced RF video analog and digital test equipment.
Coordinates required FCC Proof-of-Performance tests.
Oversees preventative and corrective maintenance duties on all MTC systems.
Provides planning and network coordination for institutional and government channels
Provides planning, network design and purchasing preparation for new video services.
Coordinates equipment authorization with vendors and program suppliers.
As Subject Matter Expert, provides training as required to other company employees.
Develops outage restoration and escalation processes.

Ability to supervise a diverse group of Engineers in a work environment that allows creativity, teamwork, and a feeling of accomplishment. Develop, train, and motivate employees continuously. Completion of timekeeping duties and performance reviews.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in electronics and equivalent MTC training and experience.
Minimum 2 years MTC Engineer II or related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to analyze and interpret graphical and numerical data provided from various system sources.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
Ability to compile and organize data relating to system operation and testing activities. Tracking and organization of equipment manuals, shipping and repair documentation, calibration, and software/firmware version and upgrade documentation, and bandwidth management database information.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Microsoft Windows-based programs, Advanced Excel skills, SDM, VODlink, Oracle, Kronos and various PC based diagnostic tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Will also: operate company vehicles; use common hand tools; work in small confined area; occasionally walk, stand, reach, stoop and kneel as needed Requires up to 50 pounds to be lifted occasionally.
