Job Description: Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is looking for experienced loan officers who are looking for a career-growth opportunity with an industry leader. Our residential mortgage loan officers are in a commission-driven environment as outside sales reps. Opportunities exist in Alexandria, Baxter, Bemidji, Buffalo, Cambridge, Cloquet, Duluth, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Hutchinson, Litchfield, Little Falls, Monticello, Pequot Lakes, Saint Joseph, Sartell, Sauk Centre, Sauk Rapids, Waconia, Walker, Willmar, and in Virginia, Minnesota. We are seeking experienced retail residential mortgage loan officers who have established local business and local referral partnerships to solicit residential mortgages from various sources. Strong sales and organizational skills are essential. For consideration, applicants must have current mortgage origination experience and established referral partners in the local area. Minimum Qualifications: Job experience: • 2 years of mortgage origination experience with an emphasis on prime lending and purchase business; FHA-experience preferred in this market • Proven retail mortgage lending sales experience; should have closed 48-50 loans in the past 12 months • Established relationships with local referral partners (e.g., realtors, builders, attorneys, financial advisors or CPAs) • Proven ability to self-source leads and to create profitable business relationships with referral partners • Current local mortgage experience required in the one of the following areas: Waconia, MN; Buffalo, MN; Saint Cloud, MN; Alexandria, MN; Monticello, MN and surrounding communities—refer to full list of locations, above • Focus on conventional lending with an emphasis on purchase business and FHA lending • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to customers and business partners • Excellent customer service skills with the availability to assist customers on evenings and weekends Skills/competencies: • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to customers and business partners • Demonstrated PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use database marketing • Demonstrated customer service skills • Demonstrated knowledge of the mortgage industry and loan structuring Physical requirements: • Ability to move 15+ pounds • Ability operate moving vehicle or have access to transportation • Ability to stand/sit/walk for 6-8 hours a day Education: • High School Education or equivalent
Preferred Skills: • Proven sales experience with the ability to meet minimum productions standards of $8-10 million in the past 12 months • Niche market experience in any of the following specialties is considered an asset: builder-focused lending; renovation, jumbo or reverse mortgages and/or experience with down payment assistance and bond program lending and/or CRA lending, lower to moderate income borrowers, and/or working with first time homebuyers; and/or working with ethnically diverse consumer segments • Niche market experience serving bilingual clients • BA Business degree or related experience • Three or more years outside commissioned sales mortgage origination experience; including a record of accomplishment at developing relationships from referral sources; i.e. Real Estate professionals, builders, networking groups, professional associations, and financial professionals. • Experience with real estate appraisals, title reports and real estate transactions.
