BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for San Diego's Scientific community. We are currently looking for a Molecular Biologist to work for a leading San Diego biotechnology company.

Molecular Biologist - Sr. Scientist

Critical position in Company's R&D organization to direct Gene Modification group with responsibilities for GSSM, GeneReassembly,HTP-subcloning and technology development. Responsible for coordinating with project leaders and management on developing project plans, establishing timelines and deliverables. Responsible for allocation and management of resources to projects and ongoing assessment of departmental resource requirements. Developing of new technology platforms and evaluating external technology platforms for suitability and incorporation into existing platforms.

Education:

Either M.S. of Ph.D. in the area of molecular biology, genetics, microbiology or related area.

Experience:

Either eight years of relevant job experience with an MS, or at least five years of relevant job experience, including postdoctoral work, with Ph.D. Extensive experience in the area of directed evolution, site-specific mutagenesis, recombinant DNA including bacterial, yeast and phage systems, and protein expression. Senior level scientist to lead in the fermentation group. Proven project and personnel management skills and ability to work within a team environment to establish timelines, milestones and deliverables. A proven track record mentoring and training junior scientists.

Knowledge and skills:

Well proven project management skills and ability to deliver results in a timely and efficient manner. The ability to solve complex logistical problems and provide innovative and creative solutions to streamline and optimize processes. Demonstration of the ability to analyze and critically evaluate complex technical data. A proven ability to work within a team environment while providing leadership and expertise in the area of molecular biology, directed evolution and protein expression. Must have the ability to prepare and present presentations at both the laboratory and corporate level in an effective and timely manner. Fluency in English ( both written and oral) is prerequisite
