Top Midtown Manhattan Law Firm has an immediate opening for a SQL Server DBA who has some experience with Application Support as well. You will be assisting the Senior SQL Server Architect in all of his daily duties & will learn a great deal in the process. If you have any experience supporting accounting applications, that is a huge plus. We are looking for an application project engineer with SQL experience. The position is 80% hands on technical project support and monitoring. The additional 20% will be used to expand the engineer**s knowledge through training and mentoring.

The object of this position is:
1) Relieve project and task support burden from operation support engineering
2) Manage end to end project work from operational prospect with technical implementation
3) Develop 2nd level support and implement engineering work to all the SQL servers.

The ideal candidate should have application support and engineering background with desire to expand the technical specialty. MSSQL database operation experience and database concept are required. SQL server experience should include installation, optimize configuration, backup and restore, setup permissions, and understanding of T-SQL. Good troubleshooting skills and methodology are essential. Windows Server and IIS administration experience is desired. Previous support of Accounting department and basic understanding of accounting business including time entry applications such as Elite Enterprise are plus.

** Ability to research and find best solution on the Internet
** Ability to enumerate the steps to construct action plan
** An understanding of scripting logic
** Knowledge of Windows scripting
** Willingness to learn Optional, but desirable skills:
** Accounting application support such as Elite Enterprise, Whitehill, E-invoicing,
*Collect, Carpe Diem experience (user support and escalation to the vendor)
** SQL DBA/Developer support and engineering experience
