Lead a team of process engineers in the execution of engineering projects primarily designed to improve manufacturing reliability, repeatability and yield performance. Candidate should be recognized as an expert by peers and have diversified experience in the management of process engineering projects. Must be highly motivated and capable of effectively directing staff on financial reporting, managing budget and forecast, schedule development/tracking and resource planning.

Lead and develop a group of process engineers to deal with the challenges and expectations of their engineering roles. Establish and implement a shared mission and vision for the process engineering group and provide input on the overall Engineering Department policy. Define the scope of work and roles and responsibilities for the team and manage resources effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Set and define policy and procedures to guide staff in accomplishing and documenting projects and ensure staff's projects are implemented according to the predetermined capital plan and schedule. Manage, identify, hire, develop and recognize technical staff; the team may include senior level engineers and technicians. Create and maintain employee and organizational development; as well as HR plans which meet business needs. Establish and drive Good Engineering Practices in all projects by integrating the Project Management Methodology throughout the Process Engineering group Review and approve the technical feasibility of complex design concepts and analysis of new technologies. Manage technical issues with appropriate resolution and communication. Partner and align the Process Engineering group with Technical Services, Quality Engineering, EHS, Validation and other departments as necessary to conduct process engineering projects effectively, safely and efficiently. Review and analyze proposals to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Recommend proposal to management for consideration and allocation of funds. Responsible for preparation of project cost estimates up to multi-million dollar range. Monitors all project expenditures and cost tracking. Approve protocols and support documentation (engineering change requests, exception requests, etc.) in order to secure project completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be well versed in engineering disciplines (e.g.fluid flow, thermodynamics, heat transfer, static's and dynamics, engineering materials). Must possess knowledge of related disciplines. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the EU and US. Knowledge of GMPs, FDA guidelines, purchasing practices and process validation. Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience. Demonstrate the ability to write reports clearly, describing results from complex processes and qualifications. Has demonstrated effective supervisory skills along with good organization, prioritization and follow-up skills. Ability to overcome obstacles and to deliver results. Experienced in the selection of tactical proposals among several options based on business drivers and economic analysis. Effective in presenting projects/proposals to Division level management for approval. BS in related engineering discipline. 8-10 years of experience. Experience in handling multiple projects and leading cross functional project teams.
