Job Description: Program Engineer (PE) responsible for execution of the engineering development efforts on a defense-related program. The PE will lead a team of five to ten design engineers. Engineering execution on the program will be managed by the PE using Earned Value Management techniques. The PE is responsible for process deployment and process discipline on the program. Progress towards achieving program performance goals will be monitored on a regular basis by the PE and the Engineering team. A monthly Program Measurement and Analysis Team (PMAT) meeting will be chaired by the PE and will focus on analysis of engineering performance metrics on the program. A monthly Engineering Program Review led by the PE will present the results of the PMAT to the site Engineering Leadership Team. The PE will be responsible for identifying and managing engineering risk on the program. Any required engineering cost estimating efforts required on the program will be led by the PE.

Required Skills : At least 6 years engineering experience, including at least 2 years of engineering management, Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, or Control Account Management (CAM) experience. Solid leadership and project management skills. Proven ability to manage program performance using Earned Value Management techniques. Experience identifying and managing risks. Effective communication skills. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The candidate must have their security eligibility updated within the last 5 years or, as a condition of employment, the ability to obtain such eligibility within 2 months.

Desired Skills: Project Management certification. MBA degree. Experience working on defense-related development programs. Experience with development of communications systems, command & control systems, or combat identification systems. Six sigma process improvement training. Working knowledge of the following PC-based productivity tools: Lotus Notes, eRoom, Microsoft Project.

Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, preferably Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.
