Help Montanans live healthier lives with a rewarding career as the Medical Underwriter, RN in our Helena office.  We have an exciting opportunity for a resourceful individual who enjoys analyzing and evaluating information for the best outcome of both the customer and BlueCross BlueShield of Montana.

 

As the Medical Underwriter, RN you will compile medical data from claims history, health applications, physician medical reports and chart notes to analyze applicant’s risk, review appeals and provide appropriate response based on underwriting guidelines. You will determine the appropriate level of risk, benefit plans, and rate level eligibility for individual and group insurance, train staff on medical terminology and large claims analysis and assist in assist in Medical Review misrepresentation evaluation programs. You will also be responsible to participate in system enhancements, development, coordination, testing and implementation including the implementation of a new medical underwriting tool, and will stay abreast of new clinical and technological advances.

 

The Medical Underwriter, RN at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana will have the following attributes and abilities:

Our ideal candidate will possess:

 

A Registered Nursing license One to three years’ experience in acute care nursing Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field
