Position: Medical Assisting/Medical Administrative Assisting Program Director – Milwaukee West Campus
Hours/Status: Full Time/Exempt
Start Date: Negotiable
Reports To: Dean of Academic Affairs
Location: Milwaukee West Campus
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the MA/MAA Program Director for the Downtown Campus, is responsible for the effective operation of the Medical Assisting and Medical Administrative Assisting programs at the West campus, including compliance with both AAMA and Bryant & Stratton policy; ensuring students meet course and program outcomes; meeting program enrollment, retention, and graduation goals; developing and maintaining partnerships with employers; and coordinating and evaluating internships.
Specific West Campus responsibilities include:
Ensure all documentation, reporting, and instructional activities are in compliance with all standards, competencies, policies, and guidelines as set forth by program accreditors and Bryant & StrattonPrepare for, coordinate and lead site visits by accreditorsTeach as requiredRepresent the programs at open houses, high school events, new student orientations, student recognition ceremonies, etc.Support the MA and MAA campus clubs and participate actively in local and national AAMA eventsOversee MA labs, including scheduling and ordering of necessary equipment and supplies within budgetary limitsModel lifelong learning and ensure program quality through continuous professional development
Market responsibilities to be shared with MA/MAA Program Director – Downtown Campus:
Coordinate course schedule each semester and assign instructors Work closely with academic counselors and faculty to ensure student needs are addressed within and outside of the classroom Monitor course materials and grade and attendance reports to ensure course outcomes are met and rigor upheld Ensure internship sites are visited as required and documentation is filedProvide coaching, training, and information to MA and MAA facultyRecruit MA Advisory Board members and coordinate Advisory meetings Build and maintain relationships with area employersCoordinate CPR, first aid, and MA certification coursesServe on college committees as neededOther responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in relevant discipline; CMA certification or eligibility strongly preferredProfessional experience in a healthcare environment required, with supervisory experience strongly preferredDemonstrated excellence in classroom instruction Exceptional leadership, facilitation, and written and oral communications skills as well as demonstrated competence in developing others, maintaining confidentiality, managing detail, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong team player with demonstrated ability to forge supportive partnerships within and between departments Demonstrated commitment to professional development, student success, and campus culture and values
