The College for Professional Studies at Regis University is seeking applicants for a Media Buyer position. Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Media Buyer is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of National and Colorado media buying strategies to promote all programs in the College for Professional Studies (CPS). Efforts result in meeting inquiry targets for CPS programs. This position will assist the department in meeting its mission of serving prospective students and applicants interested in accelerated, semester-based, undergraduate and graduate programs. The Media Buyer will work independently and collaboratively with other CPS marketing staff as well as outside departments.
The Media Buyer will assist in the development and execution of the overall marketing media purchasing strategy for CPS Programs; manage implementation of assigned projects to meet strategic business and marketing goals and objectives, while adhering to timelines and budgets; and be responsible for increasing brand awareness, helping to identify new marketing opportunities through targeted advertising to promote CPS programs and to generate sales leads.
This position will manage the research, negotiation, and implementation of strategic media purchases to drive CPS school and program strategies including online and print advertising, email and direct mail list procurement, affiliate sites lead generation and lead generation providers; develop and maintain media plans and monitory all approvals and associated budgets; manage the negotiation and contracts with Cost Per Click and Cost Per Acquisition pricing models; understand the implications of Pay Per Click and Search Engine Optimization on media buying purchases and performance; and analyze results of campaigns and recommend actions to improve performance.
This person will analyze media kits and advertising campaign data and prepare purchasing recommendations; work with online sites to lead providers to resolve any campaign set up, tracking, and billing issues; monitor the accuracy and quality control with lead vendors, affiliates, and internal creative units after campaign launches to ensure accurate implementation and branding consistency; work with senior marketing staff and academic program experts to find the best sources for advertising to reach target audiences including coordination with associations, organizations, and specific media outlets to generate leads for targeted programs and school initiatives; and maintain appropriate and responsive working relationships with internal clients as well as vendors.
This person will also measure and optimize ROI; review site invoices and ensure accurate payment and to prepare campaign reconciliation; lead collaboration with CPS Directors, Account Executives, and Enrollment Counselors to design and implement marketing activities to increase new student enrollment; serve as liaison with University departments and on university committees whereby Marketing and New Student Enrollment issues are prevalent; perform other duties as requested by the Director and Assistant Director of Marketing in support of department goals and objectives; and perform related duties as necessary to support the Regis mission.
A Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or communications and three years marketing, advertising, or communications experience required. Successful candidates will have the ability to write, edit, and produce marketing collateral; strong negotiation skills; the ability to manage a budget and report on expenses and ROI; proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and Internet/web research; strong analytical and interpretation skills; the ability to design, analyze, prepare, and present statistical reports; strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evening, weekend work; some travel required; the ability to speak clearly, use telephone and computer in communications; and strong analytical and research/data gathering skills.
