MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER – DETROIT, MI. DISTRICT OFFICE

 

Orbital Engineering,® Inc., is a nationally recognized multi-discipline engineering and design company with offices in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio is seeking motivated and well rounded Mechanical Project Engineers to support its growing workload at their Detroit, MI. District Office.

 

Job Description: complete project responsibilities for design, specification, review and development of mechanical equipment or systems, and for design of new and existing facilities. It will involve making engineering studies, calculation, and design specifications, and providing project estimate, detail design, procurement, installation, acceptance test, and performance audit.

 

Projects: heavy industrial/consulting environment.

 

Focus: petroleum chemical, power, manufacturing, and steel industries.

 

The position requires that the Mechanical Project Engineer manage numerous projects at sites in the greater Detroit, Michigan area. This position calls for an individual with a Professional Engineering License and a minimum of 5 years experience, working on heavy industrial projects in a consulting environment.  Some knowledge of HVAC, piping design and machine design is preferred.  The successful candidate must have good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with clients and engineering personnel.

 

Candidates must have a flexible schedule and quick response time in order to compensate for the customer’s changing needs. Also, candidate must be able to manage others and work independently.
