Create component designs, check and releases prints. ¿ Initiate and coordinate (PBR & PCP) prototype builds. ¿ Make engineering design changes and release drawings through our change system. ¿Create DVP¿s and test components to assure components meet requirements. ¿ Create DRBFM analysis and component DFMEA¿s. ¿ Perform dimensional stack ups to assure compliance to design guidelines. ¿ Provide technical definition for cost studies. ¿ Supports company quality and purchasing in supplier development. ¿ Key engineering interface with suppliers and manufacturing plants. ¿ Provides support to manufacturing on quality issues related to product design. ¿ Root cause analysis on component defects attributable to design. ¿ Component benchmarking to improve design. ¿ Engineering development for on going product improvement and cost reduction. Location: South Bend, IN. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME preferred) or equivalent four year engineering degree. Desired: Automotive component design experience is higly desirable.2. Three years of relavant work/engineering experience.
