Mechanical Engineer
SUMMARY
Researches, plans, and designs mechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties maybe assigned.
Develop and manage projects including initial plant start up.
Researches and analyzes data such as design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Designs products or systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
Plans and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
Designs products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Proficient in MS office applications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; and three-five years related experience and/or training. Familiar with electricallmechanicallhydraulic schematics and principles.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theoty, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram fonn and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Experience with quality, continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing, and safety practices.
