This is a posting for CH2M Hill Academy Services, LLCJOB SUMMARY:
Report to Maintenance and Design Engineering Manager. Plan, design, and direct mechanical engineering projects for execution of the base civil engineering program.
PRIMARY DUTY:
Experience with Mechanical projects required; Assists Design Engineering Department in application of principles, methods, and techniques of mechanical engineering technology; Project Management and Communication skills critical; Experience with large academic buildings, athletic facilities, anti-terrorism/force protection, central plants, water distribution systems, wastewater systems, dams, roads, and pavements preferred; Reviews project design analyses, specifications, proposals, and submittals and confers with other engineers concerning assistance required, such as design plan preparation, evaluation of field conditions, design changes, and reports; Meets with using groups and contractors and determines needs, scope, and possible scheduling of projects; Writes statement of work documents for design and construction; Creates estimates for design and construction projects; Completes several in-house designs of small projects each year; Assists planning department with execution of in-house construction projects; Conducts pre-bid site visits and responds to requests for information from contractors. Experience with AutoCAD preferred; Supervisor outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches; Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. Must be well organized with extremely good time management skills.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Additional duties in direct support of departmental requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
In-depth experience in mechanical engineering design, project management, and facilities maintenance. Experience in digital controls, pneumatic controls, fire protection systems, HVAC/R and heating plant experience is preferred. Understand, read, write, and speak fluent English.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience as manager or supervisor of engineering department. At least 3 of the 5 years of experience in supervision of, and familiarity with, the activities of facilities and systems engineering. Understand, read, write, and speak fluent English. BS Engineering or other related technical field from an accredited institution.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:Registered PE licensed in the State of Colorado. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Must provide an official DMV report. Able to receive and maintain a favorable Local Background Check (LBC) and National Agency Check (NAC) as applicable to the position requirements, current and future. SECRET security clearance required
