JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for providing engineering system diagnostic support for IntelliServ Field Specialists working on land and offshore oil rigs, as well as IntelliServ manufacturing operations. Support functions include: simple networking, IntelliServ applications on Windows and Linux, IntelliServ UHF through coaxial cable, and drill pipe electrical issues.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field3 or more years of related experienceExcellent diagnostic and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take the initiativeBackground in drilling operations and down-hole environments desirableBackground in field operations desirableAble to travel extensively domestically and internationally (Up to 50% of the time)Able to obtain a valid passport

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Provide engineering support to Field SpecialistProvide engineering support to manufacturing group in the production and testing of IntelliServ drill pipePerform standard engineering calculations related to specific design and/or analytical projectsAssist and direct technicians in supporting workTrack failures by means of emails, pictures, and reportsEliminate downtime at the well-site due to issues with tubularsComplete accurate documentation of data and project resultsWrite reports that draw appropriate conclusion from project resultsResolve system issues, which may result from software, mechanical stress, or electrical connections in a rigorous environmentReconfigure networks and systems to resolve faultsDesign and write custome applications to analyze field data Provide feedback to IntelliServ engineeringSupport further investigations at field maintenance sites and at the local Provo, Utah officeTrain field service personnel in procedure updatesOther duties as assigned.
