Description: Design of electrical and optical packaging considering robust, environmentally sealed housings for precision optical alignment and lens mounting design including material and manufacturing process selection.

Perform engineering analyses of mechanical designs to assess functional behavior, component material selection, geometric dimensions and tolerances, compliance with environmental requirements and structural integrity.

Perform state-of-the-art finite element analysis (FEA) for stress, vibration, mission fatigue life prediction and topological/architechtural optimization.

Develop mathematical models, dynamic simulations, analyses and optimizations.

Evaluate design issues related to strength of materials, long-term stability, shock, vibration, repeatability, circuit protection and power consumption.

Develop comprehensive trade studies to be reviewed by both senior program staff and external customers.

Perform laboratory testing of spacecraft mechanism components and tribological materials. Qualifications: Thermodynamics; structures; kinematics; finite element analysis (FEA);

Demonstrated problem-solving capability in a multi-functional team environment.

Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience A Total Value package.
